Statement of intent

Our Privacy Policy explains how and why we collect personal information about you. We are committed to responsible management of personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

Use of personal information as part of Unipass Service

As part of membership of the Unipass Service all individuals are required to accept the terms of the Unipass Data Protection Policy which sets out how Unipass and other parties may use your personal information. This website logs your Internet Protocol (I.P.) address. All computers that are linked to the Internet have an I.P. number. An I.P. address does not provide identifiable personal information.

Access

You are entitled under the Data Protection Act 1998 (as amended) to a copy of the personal information that we hold about you if you apply to us in writing. We may make a small charge for dealing with any such request. More details are noted in the Unipass Data Protection Policy.

Availability of website

Unipass does not guarantee that the Unipass website or any of the websites to which it links shall be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Unipass shall however within a reasonable time (whilst working during 9am to 5am on weekdays only), following notification that the Unipass website is unavailable generally, use reasonable endeavours to restore access to the Unipass website.

Security encryption measures

Unipass shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the supply of your information to Unipass as part of the Unipass membership application process shall be by means of online forms and/or links via the Unipass website which are protected by industry standard encryption. However such encryption technology is not guaranteed to be totally secure and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, (i) the Unipass website and online application process as part of the Unipass service is provided on an “as is” basis and (ii) Unipassdisclaims all warranties, representations, understandings whatsoever, express or implied, specifically including but not limited to warranties of satisfactory quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, freedom from computer viruses, freedom from access by unauthorized persons and non-infringement of third parties’ rights.
